Retirement Announcement

Dr. Roger Nippard has indicated that he will be retiring from his role as Superintendent and CEO effective March 31, 2024.

Board Chair, Jeff Wilson shared the news with mixed emotions that the Board of Directors has accepted and endorsed this significant development in Roger's exemplary career.

"FFCA has been immensely privileged to have Roger lead our organization as Superintendent and CEO since he joined us in 2014. He continues to be one of FFCA’s greatest assets: a man of great integrity and character and a genuine leader of, and believer in, his people.

During his tenure, Roger has taken FFCA from a strong charter school system replete with all the ingredients for greatness, and through his vision, work ethic and philosophy of servant leadership, has transformed FFCA into the pinnacle of choice in education in Alberta. Propelled by his impassioned drive to see his people succeed, FFCA is now consistently one of the top-performing academic institutions in the province, a feat that is only realized by a determination to constantly improve and by trusting and empowering every individual to contribute to their greatest potential.

While the Board is saddened to see Roger transition out of the role he has filled so admirably for close to a decade, we are excited that he and his wife Marilyn will have more time to spend with family and friends, both here in Calgary and back home in Newfoundland, where they have a lovely cabin accessible only by boat, an idyllic setting far outside the range of cells phones. The Board would like to offer its deepest gratitude to Roger and Marilyn for their collective service to our community; your passion and dedication have made FFCA immeasurably stronger and more resilient.

The Board can proudly and confidently share that Roger has delivered on the singular goal every CEO strives for when taking on the role: leaving the organization stronger than when you found it. Roger has achieved this and more, and we wish him the very best wherever his journey takes him next.

The Board has been working to find Roger’s successor, and we will be communicating the outcome of our search in the near future."

Sincerely,

Jeff Wilson,

FFCA Board Chair
