On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, FFCA staff, administrators, Board members, and guests gathered at the Glenmore Inn for our annual Staff Recognition Evening. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the incredible dedication, commitment, and lasting impact of the people who make FFCA such a special place to learn and work.
The evening began with a reception featuring appetizers and a cash bar, followed by a warm welcome from Deputy Superintendent Justin Kool, a Land Acknowledgement, and remarks from Board Chair Adam Martin, who expressed the Board's appreciation for the outstanding work of FFCA staff across the organization.
Following dinner, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of Years of Service Awards, recognizing employees who have reached significant career milestones. This year, FFCA proudly honoured staff celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service. Together, these recipients represent hundreds of years of dedication to supporting students, families, and colleagues throughout the FFCA community.

The evening also recognized the contributions of our outgoing Board member. Sam Jin was presented with the 2025 Outgoing Board Service Award in appreciation of his dedicated service and leadership on the FFCA Board of Directors.
We were also honoured to celebrate the retirement of several valued members of the FFCA family:

Cathy Kopec – South Middle School (20 years)
Kevin Wiebe – South Middle School (24 years)
Krista Lee – South Elementary School (27 years)
Their years of service have made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues. We thank each retiree for their unwavering commitment to FFCA and wish them every happiness in this exciting new chapter.
The evening concluded with closing remarks from Superintendent/CEO Dr. Kurtis Leinweber, who reflected on the passion, professionalism, and commitment demonstrated by FFCA staff every day. He thanked all employees for their continued dedication to advancing FFCA's mission and making a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
