We are pleased to inform you of a new member of the Southwest Elementary team! Lara Talamini will be joining us as our new Associate Principal, replacing Pauline Miller, who has chosen to explore new professional avenues after making valuable contributions to our school community.
Lara joined us on December 13, 2006 as a Grade 7/8 Math/Science teacher at SMS and spent many years as a Grade 6 teacher at NMS before taking a position in the PE department. She also spent a year as the Associate Principal at SEE from 2013 to 2014. Lara comes to FFCA having grown up in Australia, graduating from the University of Queensland with an Applied Science degree in Kinesiology and Education. She completed her Master's in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary. Lara taught in Australia and Nova Scotia before moving to Calgary.
Lara shares the following thoughts on joining FFCA and taking on this role: “I’m thrilled to be moving back into an administrative role at FFCA! I’ve been a staff member at NMS since its inception in 2008, so saying goodbye to my colleagues here is bittersweet, and marks the end of an era. It has been such a wonderful place to work over the years, and I’m grateful for the memories and experiences that I take with me. I’m so excited and honoured to be beginning a new chapter at SWE, Salima and I will do everything we can to support the staff, students and parents every day. I look forward to getting to know everyone in my new home!"
Please join me in welcoming Lara to FFCA Southwest Elementary Campus.
