Dr. Wendy Aturamu is a researcher and a seasoned Human Resources Practitioner with extensive background in HR consulting services, leadership development, career coaching, and immigration matters. Her passion includes providing HR solutions for her clients, consulting for youth as a career counselor, and empowering women to discover their career potentials. Her over 20+ experiences in human resources and leadership skill spans private and public sectors. She is the CEO of Multitrends Immigration Services Inc. She is also the founder and the President of Trends Consulting Intl, a world-class human resources consulting firm.
Wendy holds a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, U.S.A, Bachelor's degree in Human Resources & Labor Relations from the University of Lethbridge, Canada, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada. She is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Alberta, Canada.
She was an active member of the Parent Council at the FFCA Middle School between 2011 and 2015, also a member of the FFCA Association of School Councils (ASC) and Vice Chair of South Middle School (SMS) in 2018. She was also one of the professional volunteers in 2018 to give a presentation on Human Resources Career for the 2018 Graduating Students at FFCA High School.

Dami has two children who attend the SWE. I am very passionate about FFCA and the amazing well rounded education the students receive. The students not only receive high quality education, they are taught character building and leadership which prepare them for life in general.
As an immigrant, I received a lot of support when I moved to Calgary and I volunteer as my way of giving back. I volunteer as a director/member on a couple of boards within the city of Calgary, as a mentor for internationally trained lawyers and as an instructor at a law program.
I have a masters degree in law from the University College London UK and currently work as a Crown Counsel with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. I also work in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion space in the organization, influencing and shaping policies to make the organization more inclusive. I have a lot of experience working in collaboration with stakeholders and look forward to the opportunity to work in close partnership with the academic staff and the administration towards achieving an even greater FFCA.

Sumara Diaz is Finance and Accounting Professional who has worked in the Energy Industry for over 20 years. Sumara holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a CPA, CMA designation.
Sumara possess a unique strategic planning background that has given her the opportunity to work with government bodies on policy and compliance matters, and in corporate finance and accounting roles for several upstream and downstream Oil and Gas companies. She has previous board experience siting on the boards of PhilCan Industries and previously served a 3-year term on FFCA’s board.
Sumara has been described by those who have worked closely with her as dedicated, committed, passionate but rational, and a strong leader who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. All attributes she believes will once again contribute to serving on FFCA’s board.

I’m a 15 year plus Chartered Accountant with a strong industry background coupled with not for profit Board governance experience. My professional experience has primarily been in the oil and gas sector, working at a senior level as a Director of Finance at an intermediate sized international energy company and currently working as the Vice President of Finance at a start- up international energy company. In these roles, I have developed a strong skill set in finance and audit, technology, project management, strategic planning, communications, and Human Resources.
Outside of work, I have previously served as a Board member with Theatre Calgary. During my four year tenure on the Board, I served as chair of the Audit and Finance committee, overseeing the changeover of the company’s CFO, implementation of a new accounting system, and supported the Theatres innovative strategic initiative “Theatre for All”, which has helped revitalize the theatre post-COVID.

As a dedicated professional with a growing family, Ryan is committed to fostering sustainable growth and creating value for the communities he serves. His blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving makes him a valuable asset to any board leadership role.

Steve Konopelky is an accomplished management professional with extensive leadership experience growing business value. Over the past 27 years, Steve has been working with private and public companies over his career, managed the corporate needs of capital markets, budgets, streamlining operations and building out great teams. As a founder of ELM, Steve helped build a diversified industry leading team across various disciplines, structure capital requirements, enhance opportunities and grow the business substantially over the past 6 years. At times Steve is involved directly with the Government of Alberta at various Ministry levels helping to deliver change policy and regulations. Prior to ELM Inc., Steve co-founded and served as the President & CEO of Silver Mountain Mines, a public Canadian exploration and mining company.
Mr Konopelky served as the Vice President of a power development company for over 4 years, responsible for managing over $400 million in business development initiatives. He has proven development and consulting expertise in many sectors including power development, oil and gas, supply chain management, transload logistic facilities, real estate, manufacturing and environmental while supporting clients in their ESG initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Toronto and accredited designations in financial, investment and risk management and a graduate of Trinity College, a leading independent private school. Steve has been a strong supporter over last 4 years of Closer to Home organization and has generously support Indigenous communities and platforms in various capacity.

I am a born and raised Calgarian, with two girls in FFCA, one at SEE, one at SMS. I am passionate about education, and very encouraged about the experience we’ve had to date in FFCA and would be grateful to have an opportunity to serve in this capacity to continue that experience for our girls and their many current and future classmates.
I am an executive at an energy company here in Calgary. I spend a good portion of my day challenging myself and my team to continuously improve, identify shortfalls, risks, and areas for improvement, and I’m hopeful that these skill sets will be helpful for the FFCA board.

My husband and I are proud parents of two sons attending FFCA; one is currently attending NHS, and the other is at the NMS campus. Over the past 10 years, FFCA’s commitment to providing a values-driven, well-rounded education deeply aligns with my family's beliefs, and I have personally experienced the incredible impact FFCA has on its students and community.
I am passionate about contributing to FFCA as a Board Director to continue supporting its vision of cultivating well-rounded students equipped with both academic excellence and strong personal character.
I have over 16 years of experience as a leader in human resources across a wide range of industries, from construction and manufacturing to consulting and non-profits. My professional background has taught me how to navigate complex challenges, implement practical solutions, and lead initiatives that drive meaningful change.
