Earlier this week as I made my way toward our campus entrance, stepping over our students’ rainbow-coloured chalk creations of phrases and drawings, I couldn’t help stopping to take it all in.

One of the phrases fairly glowed:  “Kindness Matters FFCA”

It stood out immediately, not for fancy lettering or bold colouring, but for purposeful, heartfelt content.

Wow! I thought to myself. What we have been modeling and teaching is transferring! With a quiet smile and a sense of having touched young hearts with one of life’s foundational truths, I continued on my way.

So in bidding farewell to all at FFCA, I encourage you to carry on teaching the important lessons of character to your students. Become the positive role models that our children need. Continue to build strong communities of care and respect.

In closing, I am reminded of a statement from Rachel Scott, Columbine High School victim, she stated, “I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same. People will never know how far a little kindness can go."

Remember: Kindness Matters FFCA.

All the best and take good care until, hopefully, our paths cross again.
